Grosse Stehende 2001
The sculptor Markus Daum assembles fragments of plaster, the
remnants of castings and occasionally found objects to create
complex fragile structures. Creating moulds of the delicate
sculptures is particularly complicated and requires great precision.
The airiness of the jagged surface and the detail and presence
of the materials should be duplicated in the resulting casting.
The pieces are cast in Tombak, a brass alloy with a low zinc
content, and generally left in their as-cast form. |
