Gummiskulpturen
In this series, Fischli and Weiss have brought together trivial
objects considered of great importance in everyday life, and
from them made sculptures of black rubber-like Polyurethane.
Three cupboards were cast in negatives made of chipboard coated
with synthetic resin. Profiles were created either with strips
of silicon glued to the negative or through countersinking.
Details such as the cardboard back panels typical of cheap furniture
were formed from silicon and attached directly to the joined
pieces of the negative. The sculptures are stabilised by a core
of cellular glass. |

Betonlandschaften
2003
Fischli and Weiss modelled the four landscapes directly in concrete.
Hidden behind the apparent coincidence and meaninglessness of
these modelled topographies are possibly traces of something
more meaningful. |
