Skulpturenpark Schönthal 2000
The stone sculptor Peter Kamm is concerned with the manifestations of stones in the different stages of their creation. Fossilizations not only create designs but also provide a multi-layered source of information about past life forms. Through his work on the blocks of stone, the volume of the “Schattenlöcher“ (the holes in the shadows / the shadowy holes) is revealed. The Kunstgiesserei assisted in the work on multiple sandstone blocks for the Schönthal sculpture park.

Skulptur 2000
The work on the large sandstone blocks began with the moulding of the surface layer in which the pre-Ice Age ocean bed had been preserved in a remarkably beautiful limestone surface. Kamm drilled a row of holes in the block, from which impressions in silicon were then taken. These silicon negatives in which a 3-dimensional impression of the intervention materialises, were exhibited in Kunsthaus Glarus in 2000.
