Namenlose Strasse
II 2004
The artist Andro Wekua commissioned the Kunstgiesserei
to produce two exactly identical figures (the “Twins”)
for an installation. The basis for the model was a portrait
from the artist’s childhood. A very similar looking
boy was found within the Kunstgiesserei’s circle
of acquaintances. Impressions of the face, legs and arms
were made in silicon. This negative was painted with coloured
wax. Creating the most true to nature reproduction possible
of the skin, eyebrows and eyelashes presented the greatest
challenge of this assignment. |
