The Kunstgiesserei provides support in every phase of the work,
from consultation, refinement of the concept and planning, to
the crafting of the work and construction management.
When structures are situated in open spaces, the issue of
metal
conservation must often be addressed. The Kunstgiesserei
has the expertise necessary to provide professional assistance
in handling this issue. The realisation of
theatre sets requires the realisation of complex architectural
designs for which technically detailed solutions must be found.
Projects that entail work outside of our workshops always
involve a stimulating exchange with local and content-related
conditions.
Close contact with museums and conservators has also resulted
in collaborative research work. As its contribution to the
European research project, “The
Praying Boy”, the Kunstgiesserei, in cooperation
with the Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin, conducted investigations
to explore ancient techniques of casting and welding.
