The history of the Art Foundry began in 1985 when it was established by Felix Lehner in Beinwil am See (Canton Aargau). In 1994 the foundry moved to larger workshops in Sittertal in St. Gallen where, as a result of regular improvements, it is equipped with an excellent infrastructure. The foundry employs a staff fifteen to twenty people with diverse skills and experience and is also responsible for the training of two apprentices. The versatility of the staff makes the foundry very flexible and capable of realizing projects requiring a broad range of expertise in craftsmanship.
Sitterwerk – A Centre for the Cultural Economy
The grounds of the former Sittertal dye-works are now home to
a conglomeration of culture-related businesses and institutions
involved in scientific work that is in the position to take
on public and cultural projects. This atmosphere of cooperation
provides fertile soil for Sitterwerk,
a location for ideas and development. |
